Birthdays and Easter

Johnson is growing so fast that I feel like a monthly update just isn't enough these days!  We have had a fun month and I thought I'd post some highlights!

March is always a good month because John and I both celebrate our birthdays.  Mine was on a Sunday this year so it was very low key.  Ester and Scott cooked a yummy pot roast dinner and made me a birthday cake.  I felt super special!  Johnson had fun, as usual, playing with Milo.  They are so fun to watch together.  Once in a while Milo will get frustrated with Johnson but overall they are great friends!  (As long as Johnson doesn't "eat" Milo's toys ;))  Johnson and I spent the day after my birthday in line at the DMV waiting to get my license renewed. He was a good sport!

 Another huge milestone happened the week after my birthday.  After getting ready for church I walked in the bedroom and found THIS!  John just laughed and said "Yeah...he can stand now".  What the heck?!  What is happening to my tiny baby?  He is standing ALL the time now.  He pulls himself up on everything.  Especially Uncle Ben's wheelchair.

 Daylight Savings was rough for this little bud.  This was the morning after when I was trying to get him dressed for school.  Needless to say it was TOUGH getting us both out the door!  I wanted to stay and snuggle him all day!

This month was also Johnson's cousin Creed's birthday.  We had fun going down to Highland to celebrate!  Johnson loved story time with Grandma Ruth and playing with his cousin Ruby!

John's birthday was a fun one.  Johnson got to stay home with Dad because daycare was closed that day. We were celebrating our "unbirthday" at school so my mom picked up J and brought him to my class for an hour.  My students LOVED it!  It was so funny watching them.  My mom and Johnson came with me to pick the kids up from recess and they have never lined up so fast!  They are obsessed with him!  

 Easter was SO fun!  Johnson got the cutest outfits from Grandma Laurie and I couldn't stop snapping pics!  We had a fun day with my family eating dinner and dying eggs.  Sebastian and Milo even set up an Easter egg hunt for us. :)

Yesterday was an exciting day because Johnson got upgraded to a convertible carseat!  He was obviously excited. (The tongue is ALWAYS out these days!)

This kid is seriously the best.  I love every single moment I get to spend as his mom!  I feel so blessed to have such a fun, smiley baby!

8 Months!

Johnson turned 8 months yesterday and I just can't believe it!  This month he has grown and learned so much!  He is starting to look and act so much like a big boy.

This month he mastered the crawl.  For a while, it was more like the worm, but now it is officially a crawl!  He LOVES to stand and wants to do it all day long!

He finally had two real teeth pop through on the bottom.  He has been super cranky, yet still the smiliest kid alive.  His sleeping schedule has regressed though and he is waking up 4-6 times per night.  Hungry kid!

He had his first experience with a babysitter (stranger) last weekend and he did awesome.  John and I did pretty well with it too ;)  Today he got to go to Kid's Club at Sports Academy with a friend of mine because his daycare was closed.  She sent me some cute pictures afterwards and said he was a good boy.

He basically eats everything now as long as it is soft or in tiny pieces.  His favorites are sweet potatoes, applesauce, puffs and butternut squash.  He also sits in a highchair when we go out to eat, which makes life hard for me because he wants to be constantly entertained or held.  But, his smiles make up for it!

The weather has warmed up a lot in the last week so when he is fussy we take him out on walks around the neighborhood in his stroller.  He loves it and is so content as we go!  He also LOVES stuffed animals, but mostly his Mickey.  If I put one on the floor by him he crawls over and gently touches foreheads with it :)

My favorite things are his giggles, forehead "kisses" and snuggles while we watch TV at night.  He has also kind of learned to give kisses (with his mouth wide open and tongue out) which is fun.  However, he saves them for very special occasions :)  We love him SO SO much!

7 Months Old!

Johnson is now 7 months!  How does this keep happening?!  This month he has grown up so much!  His laugh has changed from a giggle to a loud belly laugh.  His favorite thing to laugh at is his reflection.  It makes him smile no matter what!  He loves to feed himself puffs and his favorite purees are sweet potato and applesauce!

One of my favorite things about him right now is feeding him bottles.  I love the way he puts his hand on my hand or on my face while he eats.  I also love how when I smile at him he stops drinking and gives me a big grin!  He also loves Eskimo Kisses and will stop to giggle if I give him some.  It is my the sweetest time of day for us.  Every night I give him a bottle and then we snuggle on the couch till he falls asleep.

He still isn't sleeping in his own bed.  I am at a loss as to what to do about that.  He wakes up immediately when I put him in his Pack and Play.  I don't get it.  Hopefully I can figure that out soon (though I do love snuggling him all night).  He is still waking up at least 2 times in the night to eat.

Crawling is coming along slowly but surely.  He can easily get up onto his hands and knees, but instead of moving his knees forward he just lunges and falls back down.  Every once in a while he'll take a few scoots forward in a normal crawl but mostly he gets around by rolling and lunging.  He also LOVES to stand and wants me to hold him up all the time!

He is SO active these days!  Standing, jumping, rolling, tugging, back arching, you name it!  It is exhausting but so fun!  He is also putting EVERYTHING in his mouth.  I am constantly pulling things out of his throat that he finds on the floor at our house or my moms.  I guess I will need to start vacuuming daily!  I've pulled out wrappers, pieces of carpet, hairballs, plastic price tag things.  AGH!

Anyway, Johnson is THE BEST.  We love him more than words!  Hopefully time will start slowing down a little!
