Spring Semester

Today is day 1 of the 2010 Spring Semester. So far I haven't gone to any classes because my only class is at 7 PM. Actually, I'm technically not in the class...I have to get the teacher to let me sign in. So cross your fingers! I'm a little stressed about the semester starting since the classes I am taking are much more difficult than the ones I have taken in my previous 3 semesters. Plus, having a night class may drive me insane. I usually take early morning classes so I can have free afternoons/nights. Since I teach preschool Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I have to take this ONE class at night. I feel like I'm just wasting time waiting for class to start. Oh well. Life goes on :)

Preschool has been fun this year. I have the cutest class! We just got a new student and a new teacher. This week we are doing a unit on penguins. The kids are really loving it! We did an experiment today where they put their hands in a bag of "penguin fat" (Crisco) and stuck both hands in ice water. This was to show them how having extra fat on their bodies keeps the little guys warm. I think they liked it. Their favorite penguin fact is that the dads hatch the eggs. The boys especially like it. I love teaching and hearing the funny comments my kids make. One little boy said "Yesterday was my mom's birthday and she got a gun. She hasn't even shot herself yet!" He comes from a family full of hunters :)

I miss being a little kid. I mostly miss a time where my biggest worry was which friends I was going to invite to my birthday party. It seems like in each stage of life we have some huge obstacle facing us. As we look back we realize that they were pretty small compared to what we are facing now. I just keep telling myself that in a few years when I look back on this it will seem silly. It is crazy how much I have grown over the past year. I feel like time is moving so quickly! I still feel like I'm so young but everyone expects me to do very adult, responsible things like getting married. I dunno. I always thought that OLD people got married :) Life is pretty crazy.

Christmas was great. The whole family was together for the first time in a while. I hate that my siblings live so far away but I think it makes me appreciate the time I spend with them even more. I spent lots of time with my extended families as well. It is always so funny to me how different my mom's family and my dad's family are. I love them both so much!
