7 Months Old!

Johnson is now 7 months!  How does this keep happening?!  This month he has grown up so much!  His laugh has changed from a giggle to a loud belly laugh.  His favorite thing to laugh at is his reflection.  It makes him smile no matter what!  He loves to feed himself puffs and his favorite purees are sweet potato and applesauce!

One of my favorite things about him right now is feeding him bottles.  I love the way he puts his hand on my hand or on my face while he eats.  I also love how when I smile at him he stops drinking and gives me a big grin!  He also loves Eskimo Kisses and will stop to giggle if I give him some.  It is my the sweetest time of day for us.  Every night I give him a bottle and then we snuggle on the couch till he falls asleep.

He still isn't sleeping in his own bed.  I am at a loss as to what to do about that.  He wakes up immediately when I put him in his Pack and Play.  I don't get it.  Hopefully I can figure that out soon (though I do love snuggling him all night).  He is still waking up at least 2 times in the night to eat.

Crawling is coming along slowly but surely.  He can easily get up onto his hands and knees, but instead of moving his knees forward he just lunges and falls back down.  Every once in a while he'll take a few scoots forward in a normal crawl but mostly he gets around by rolling and lunging.  He also LOVES to stand and wants me to hold him up all the time!

He is SO active these days!  Standing, jumping, rolling, tugging, back arching, you name it!  It is exhausting but so fun!  He is also putting EVERYTHING in his mouth.  I am constantly pulling things out of his throat that he finds on the floor at our house or my moms.  I guess I will need to start vacuuming daily!  I've pulled out wrappers, pieces of carpet, hairballs, plastic price tag things.  AGH!

Anyway, Johnson is THE BEST.  We love him more than words!  Hopefully time will start slowing down a little!

6 Months!

Johnson is now six months old!  I cannot believe it!  He has grown up so much in the last month.  He is now 100% eating formula, which has made our lives easier in a lot of ways.  he weighs 16.4 lbs and had his first bout of Thrush last week.  (No fun).

He is REALLY close to learning how to crawl!  He can get up on all fours and rock for a while, but when he gets ready to move he puts his head down.  Haha.  We are predicting he gets the hang of it in the next week or two.  He doesn't know how to sit up on his own yet though, and he doesn't seem very interested in trying!  He has also blown out at church almost every single week!

He loves to bounce in his bouncer and has figured out that the harder he jumps, the more fun it is!  He also has rekindled his love with his banks, we think because he is teething.  Drool EVERYWHERE!  He is obsessed with our cellphones and can spot them 10 feet away.  He has tried a few solid foods so far.  He loves green beans and peas, but didn't love pears.

He is still not holding his own bottle, or sleeping through the night.  Hopefully both of those things will happen soon so that I can get more sleep.  Right now he is waking up 4-5 times per night which is rough when I have to work the next morning.  He is still sleeping in our bed, which I love.  John is ready for him to move into his own crib now that he has started crawling/kicking.  We will see!  We love him more than anything!  I can't believe it has been half a year since he came into our family!

Christmas 2015

Christmas 2015 has been the best yet!  Even though Little J is too young to really appreciate what is going on, it has been SO much fun to celebrate with him!

This year we are on the "off year" with my family, so we spent the holidays in Highland with the Blairs.  We had a great party Tuesday night with the entire family which was great.

 It is amazing how much bigger this family has gotten in the last few years!  Johnson is going to have such a fun time playing with these kids when he gets a little older!  He and Creed have already had fun playing, even though Johnson tried to eat Creed's toes.

Johnson also LOVES his cousin Ruby!  She is so sweet with him and can always make him laugh.

Last night, Christmas Eve, we had another family party and ate fondue.  After dinner we played games and had a nativity.  Johnson got to be the star :)

Johnson fell asleep a little early so we didn't get a picture of us all in our Christmas jimmies, but this picture of him sleeping is pretty darn cute!

Santa found us in Highland and we had fun opening gifts this morning.  Johnson was asleep at 7 am when we woke up and we tried to let him sleep, but we were too excited, and ended up waking him up to come upstairs!

 In the end he fell asleep in John's arms and slept for over an hour (the longest nap he has had in a  LONG time).  I think it is safe to say that he had an awesome first Christmas!
